Playoffs: Part 1

We are one game away from crowning the inaugural Blitz of Apathy champion.

During the playoffs each team has two weeks to win their match, but this week the winning teams only needed one week to get enough of a lead to carry them through their matchups. Here are the results:

Falcons D/ST (FoF): 26 pts. 2 pick sixes, 3 fumble recoveries & 3 sacks.
Justin Tucker, Bal K (BUTTS): 12 pts both weeks. The most reliable kicker in the playoffs.

Underachievers:
Drew Brees, NO QB (FoF): 4 pts. 257 yds. w/ 0 TDs & 3 INTs.
Devontae Booker, Allen Robinson x2, Jarvis Landry, Dennis Pitta x2, Ravens D/ST,  (BUTTS): combined for 7 points across 2 weeks. Coach Anna had a lot of bad luck in these two weeks.


Number one seed Fits of Fantasy are on a roll and continue the same sort of balanced scoring that won for them during the regular season.

Team Tight Endz was eliminated from the playoff bracket this week after 11 of her players scored 3 points or fewer (across both weeks). LeSean McCoy and Justin Tucker tried to salvage the game for Coach Anna, but they couldn't carry up the rest of the team.

 
 

#2 Team Pup 'n Suds vs #3 Commissioner Goodell

WINNER: Commissioner Goodell

Le'Veon Bell, Pit RB (GOOD): 47 pts. 298 yds. w/ 3 TDs. Can't be stopped.
Tom Brady, NE QB (PUPR): 26 pts. 406 yds. w/ 3 TDs & 1 INT.
David Johnson, Ari RB (GOOD): 22 pts. 108 yds. w/ 2 TDs.

Underachievers:
Vikings D/ST (PUPR): -4 pts. The defense had zero takeaways, sacks, safeties or blocked kicks.
Dez Bryant, Dal WR (PUPR): -1 pts. 1 catch from 9 passes. Fumbled the one catch.
Matt Forte, NYJ RB (PUPR): 0 pts. Only ran the ball 3 times all game.

Commissioner Goodell won 22% thanks to Le'Veon Bell's one game where he got 47 points. Thanks Le'Veon Bell.

Team Pup 'n Suds was held back by a few negative point performances and lackluster running backs on both weeks. Perhaps Le'Veon's sapped the power out of the rest of the universe for his performance.

Panthers D/ST (MoSW): 20 pts. 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, 5 sacks and a safety.

Underachievers:
Theo Riddick, Det RB (MoSW): 0 pts both weeks. Was injured.
Ben Roethlisberger, Pit QB (MoSW): 2 pts. 220 yds w/ 3 INTs.
Russell Wilson, Sea QB (VOGE): 4 pts. 240 yds. w/ 1 TD and 5 INTs. It was not fun to watch.

Team Vogel's rock solid team is doing great. Coach Jenny doesn't have to change a thing with her team as they continue to rack up one of the highest scores in the league while remaining healthy.

The Ministry of Silly Walks had a particularly tough time in the first half of the playoffs game when most of her team was stuck below 5 points, including Big Ben.

Underachievers:
Seahawks D/ST (S.Co): -2 pts. An uncharacteristic terrible performance by the Seahawks.
Melvin Gordon & Donte Moncrief (S.Co): 0 pts. Both were injured at the start of their games.

The final battle of the Brandons and the tie breaking match goes to Brandonia Dr0idz!

The Space Cowboys struggled mightily with running backs and injuries. There isn't much you can do when your star running back goes down in the start of the game and the Seahawks Defense leave you hanging.

Melvin Gordon, SD RB (S.Co): 19 pts. 108 yds. w/ 1 TD.
Steven Hauschka, Sea K (S.Co): 16 pts. A perfect evening for Hauschka. 8/8 on kicks.
Patriots D/ST (FoF): 14 pts. Possibly entirely because they were playing the Rams.

Underachievers:
Mike Evans, TB WR (FoF): 5 pts. After his great week against Seattle, Evans slumped this week.
Drew Brees, NO QB (FoF): 7 pts. Season low for Brees thanks to 3 INTs and 0 TDs.

The Space Cowboys put on a great performance against the #1 seed in the league while the Fits of Fantasy had a fit of apathy to end with this weeks low score.

First place problems

Coach Brandon won it despite sitting one of the best players of the week, Thomas Rawls. He didn't end up needing the points, but I'm sure he's kicking himself after he watched Wreck-it-Rawls run all over Carolina Sunday night.

Coach Andre's squad was solid this week with everyone but his TE and Matt Forte getting at least 10 points. Tom Brady only made 14 points, but with some new faces like Jordan Howard getting 29 points, Pup 'n Suds look ready for the playoffs.

Coach Kristin's team was let down in the Carolina department, but besides that the Ministry of Silly Walks played very well. They will be the top seed for the Consolation Bracket that starts next week.

Team Tight Endz finished the regular season off with a strong three game winning streak which should give them some nice momentum into the playoffs. That's not even mentioning that Team Tight Endz' tight end was the top TE in the league this week. That bodes well for coach Anna.

Dennis Pitta and his high hair finally did it

Team Vogel was let down by their WR2 and FLEX this week. But it looks like the strategy of leaving players in should work pretty well through the playoffs since they have a strong lineup without touching a thing.

I swear it isn't

Even though coach Brandon will be the last seed going into the playoffs, he still has the chance to win the consolation bracket. The Brandonia Dr0idz ended the regular season flexing their fantasy point muscles as 6 of their players ended up above 10 points. Hopefully he can keep it up next week.
