2017 Playoffs - Game 1

Hello from Jacksonville, the magic land where football games end very late at night!

I modified my python scripts so they handle the playoffs. Your team is composed of players from the last two weeks. Players from last week will start with "(1)" and players from this week will start with "(2)".

After this week we have our two finalists! The Blitz of Apathy Super Bowl begins now! Good luck!

League All-Star Players

(2) Todd Gurley II, LAR RB (RISH): 45.0 pts (+27.1, over projected)
(2) Kareem Hunt, KC RB (MoSW): 39.6 pts (+25.6, over projected)
(2) Greg Olsen, Car TE (ZEKE): 26.6 pts (+18.2, over projected)
(1) Le'Veon Bell, Pit RB (BAD): 39.5 pts (+18.1, over projected)
(1) DeAndre Hopkins, Hou WR (SUCH): 35.9 pts (+18.1, over projected)

The top 3 scorers were from the second week of this game. I guess the players needed a warm-up game.

League Bust Players

(2) Antonio Brown, Pit WR (ZEKE): 4.4 pts (-19.1, under projected)
(2) Doug Baldwin, Sea WR (Red): 1.6 pts (-14.2, under projected)
(1) Jimmy Graham, Sea TE (GOOD): 0.0 pts (-11.9, under projected)
(2) Jimmy Graham, Sea TE (GOOD): 0.9 pts (-11.8, under projected)
(1) Ravens D/ST, D/ST (GOOD): -6.0 pts (-11.5, under projected)

Commissioner Goodell graced the bust player category 3 times the last two weeks. But Antonio Brown's injury early in the game against the Patriots takes the top spot. Luckily, Brown is projected to be back for the NFL postseason. Unluckily, he probably won't be back for the fantasy football super bowl.

Best of the Bench

(2) Sterling Shepard, NYG Bench (GOOD): 30.9 pts (+19.3, over projected)
(1) Jamaal Williams, GB Bench (Red): 30.8 pts (+19.9, over projected)
(2) Eli Manning, NYG Bench (SUCH): 27.4 pts (+15.5, over projected)
(1) Alex Collins, Bal Bench (FENE): 24.6 pts (+14.5, over projected)
(1) Demaryius Thomas, Den Bench (EGG): 23.3 pts (+10.4, over projected)

The bench had some super stars. But I'll take this moment to call out that Team Bad at Football is not here this game! Maybe this is a sign of things to come...

Green Bay Mermen vs Taco Tuesdays

FINAL SCORE: 310.0 - 260.8

WINNER: Green Bay Mermen

Star Players:
(2) Todd Gurley II, LAR RB (RISH): 45.0 pts from 180 yds; 4 TD; 21 RUNS
(2) Mark Ingram, NO RB (TACO): 32.1 pts from 151 yds; 2 TD; 12 RUNS
(1) Davante Adams, GB FLEX (TACO): 30.4 pts from 84 yds; 2 TD; 10/14 REC
(1) Todd Gurley II, LAR RB (RISH): 28.5 pts from 135 yds; 2 TD; 13 RUNS
(2) Rob Gronkowski, NE TE (TACO): 27.8 pts from 168 yds; 0 TD; 9/12 REC

Underachievers:
(1) Stephen Hauschka, Buf K (RISH): 1.0 pts (-7.3 projected) from 0/0 field goals; 1/1 XP
(1) Patriots D/ST, D/ST (TACO): 1.0 pts (-7.3 projected) from 27 PA; 2 SCK;
(2) Samaje Perine, Wsh RB (TACO): 8.6 pts (-6.4 projected) from 66 yds; 0 TD; 14 RUNS
(1) Jamison Crowder, Wsh WR (TACO): 6.4 pts (-5.8 projected) from 34 yds; 0 TD; 3/6 REC
(1) Kirk Cousins, Wsh QB (RISH): 8.8 pts (-5.7 projected) from 151 yds passing; 1 TD; 1 INT

The Green Bay Mermen continue in their top seed after a victory over Taco Tuesday. The most impressive stat from this game is how even the underachievers didn't play too badly. None of the players performed worse than 7 points under projected. That's the sort of team that makes it to the Super Bowl!

Coach Anna is in the Super Bowl!

Team Taco Tuesday would have won in most matches this week, but they fall to the consolation ladder after facing the Mermen. Coach Shane and coach Brandon will duke it out for the bronze next week.

This week tacos did not prevail

Zeke-a Virus vs Sports and Such

FINAL SCORE: 308.1 - 244.8

WINNER: Zeke-a Virus

Star Players:
(1) DeAndre Hopkins, Hou WR (SUCH): 35.9 pts from 149 yds; 2 TD; 11/16 REC
(1) Antonio Brown, Pit WR (ZEKE): 32.3 pts from 213 yds; 0 TD; 11/17 REC
(2) Devonta Freeman, Atl RB (SUCH): 30.4 pts from 194 yds; 1 TD; 22 RUNS
(1) Carson Wentz, Phi QB (ZEKE): 27.2 pts from 291 yds passing; 4 TD; 1 INT
(2) Greg Olsen, Car TE (ZEKE): 26.6 pts from 116 yds; 1 TD; 9/12 REC

Underachievers:
(2) Antonio Brown, Pit WR (ZEKE): 4.4 pts (-19.1 projected) from 24 yds; 0 TD; 2/3 REC
(1) Brandin Cooks, NE FLEX (ZEKE): 4.8 pts (-9.4 projected) from 38 yds; 0 TD; 1/7 REC
(1) Tom Brady, NE QB (SUCH): 9.3 pts (-9.0 projected) from 233 yds passing; 1 TD; 2 INT
(1) Emmanuel Sanders, Den WR (SUCH): 2.6 pts (-8.8 projected) from 16 yds; 0 TD; 1/5 REC
(1) T.Y. Hilton, Ind FLEX (SUCH): 4.0 pts (-8.0 projected) from 20 yds; 0 TD; 2/4 REC

Although coach Nick loses Antonio Brown, he regains Zeke Elliott from his 6 game suspension. Team Zeke-a Virus just barely scored lower than the Mermen this week; the Super Bowl will be so exciting!

Coach Nick is in the Super Bowl!

Team Sports and Such had a great run at the Super Bowl this season and his players did well again this week. However, he couldn't quite keep up with the consistent high scorers that Zeke-a Virus has on their team. Coach Brandon will play for the bronze in the consolation ladder next week.

Devonta Freeman couldn't manage to get 90 points in the end

Redmond SkiFrees vs Commissioner Goodell

FINAL SCORE: 214.5 - 190.0

WINNER: Redmond SkiFrees

Star Players:
(2) Cam Newton, Car QB (Red): 31.5 pts from 242 yds passing; 4 TD; 0 INT
(2) Melvin Gordon, LAC RB (Red): 28.9 pts from 169 yds; 1 TD; 19 RUNS
(1) Jordan Howard, Chi RB (GOOD): 28.5 pts from 155 yds; 2 TD; 23 RUNS
(1) Leonard Fournette, Jax RB (GOOD): 21.9 pts from 119 yds; 1 TD; 24 RUNS
(2) Ravens D/ST, D/ST (GOOD): 21.0 pts from 10 PA; 1 TD; 2 INT; 2 FR; 2 SCK;

Underachievers:
(2) Doug Baldwin, Sea WR (Red): 1.6 pts (-14.2 projected) from 6 yds; 0 TD; 1/4 REC
(1) Jimmy Graham, Sea TE (GOOD): 0.0 pts (-11.9 projected) from 0 yds; 0 TD; 0/2 REC
(2) Jimmy Graham, Sea TE (GOOD): 0.9 pts (-11.8 projected) from -1 yds; 0 TD; 1/3 REC
(2) Jamaal Williams, GB RB (Red): 3.0 pts (-11.5 projected) from 30 yds; 0 TD; 10 RUNS
(1) Ravens D/ST, D/ST (GOOD): -6.0 pts (-11.5 projected) from 39 PA; 3 SCK;

The Redmond SkiFrees wins the right to contend for the top of the consolation ladder next week thanks to solid performances and Jimmy Graham's 0.9 pts between the two weeks. It was a Christmas gift straight from Jimmy to coach Brandon.

The Bad At Footballs vs Seattle Handegg Squad

FINAL SCORE: 213.6 - 170.2

WINNER: The Bad At Footballs

Star Players:
(1) Le'Veon Bell, Pit RB (BAD): 39.5 pts from 125 yds; 3 TD; 13 RUNS
(2) Le'Veon Bell, Pit RB (BAD): 27.5 pts from 165 yds; 1 TD; 24 RUNS
(1) Theo Riddick, Det RB (BAD): 27.3 pts from 93 yds; 2 TD; 10 RUNS
(1) Adam Thielen, Min WR (EGG): 22.5 pts from 105 yds; 1 TD; 6/13 REC
(1) Golden Tate, Det WR (EGG): 22.5 pts from 85 yds; 1 TD; 8/9 REC

Underachievers:
(1) Steelers D/ST, D/ST (EGG): -3.0 pts (-10.6 projected) from 38 PA; 1 INT; 1 SCK;
(2) Adam Thielen, Min WR (EGG): 6.0 pts (-10.0 projected) from 30 yds; 0 TD; 3/5 REC
(2) Russell Wilson, Sea QB (EGG): 11.6 pts (-8.7 projected) from 142 yds passing; 1 TD; 0 INT
(2) DeSean Jackson, TB FLEX (BAD): 2.8 pts (-8.4 projected) from 18 yds; 0 TD; 1/1 REC
(2) Golden Tate, Det WR (EGG): 6.3 pts (-7.4 projected) from 33 yds; 0 TD; 3/5 REC

Psst. Hey. Guess what.

WINNER: The Bad At Footballs!

Team FENELON vs Ministry of Silly Walks

FINAL SCORE: 213.5 - 189.2

WINNER: Team FENELON

Star Players:
(2) Kareem Hunt, KC RB (MoSW): 39.6 pts from 206 yds; 2 TD; 24 RUNS
(2) Tyrod Taylor, Buf QB (FENE): 23.2 pts from 224 yds passing; 2 TD; 0 INT
(1) Kareem Hunt, KC RB (MoSW): 22.8 pts from 138 yds; 1 TD; 25 RUNS
(1) Philip Rivers, LAC QB (MoSW): 20.8 pts from 319 yds passing; 2 TD; 0 INT
(2) Tyreek Hill, KC FLEX (FENE): 19.8 pts from 88 yds; 1 TD; 5/6 REC

Underachievers:
(2) A.J. Green, Cin WR (MoSW): 5.0 pts (-11.0 projected) from 30 yds; 0 TD; 2/4 REC
(1) Mike Evans, TB WR (FENE): 4.5 pts (-10.2 projected) from 25 yds; 0 TD; 2/5 REC
(2) Carlos Hyde, SF RB (FENE): 5.9 pts (-9.4 projected) from 39 yds; 0 TD; 16 RUNS
(2) Philip Rivers, LAC QB (MoSW): 7.1 pts (-9.2 projected) from 227 yds passing; 1 TD; 3 INT
(1) Ryan Succop, Ten K (FENE): 0.0 pts (-8.8 projected) from 0/1 field goals; 1/1 XP

Kareem Hunt scored a quarter of the points in this game, but Team FENELON managed to pull out the victory.

2017 - Week 13

That's all she wrote! The regular season is over.

Now it's time for the most important 4 weeks of the season... the playoffs! The top 4 teams will play for the title, while everyone else jockeys for final rankings. Everything up until now was just a warmup for these games!

League All-Star Players

Tyreek Hill, KC FLEX (FENE): 36.5 pts (+23.3, over projected)
Alex Smith, KC QB (GOOD): 37.6 pts (+20.7, over projected)
Nelson Agholor, Phi WR (MoSW): 27.1 pts (+18.6, over projected)

One third of Tyreek Hill's receptions were touchdowns. That's a good way to be.

League Bust Players

Tyrod Taylor, Buf QB (FENE): 3.8 pts (-14.1, under projected)
Brandin Cooks, NE WR (ZEKE): 4.2 pts (-12.0, under projected)
Jordan Howard, Chi RB (GOOD): 4.3 pts (-11.4, under projected)

Tyrod Taylor had no touchdowns and an interception. He should learn from Tyreek Hill and try the touchdown thing.

Best of the Bench

Alvin Kamara, NO Bench (BAD): 29.6 pts (+12.6, over projected)
Dolphins D/ST, Bench (RISH): 27.0 pts (+21.1, over projected)
Alex Collins, Bal Bench (FENE): 23.8 pts (+11.8, over projected)

Alvin Kamara is best of the bench 3 weeks in a row! Too bad he's stuck on the Bad at Football's bench.

Redmond SkiFrees vs Team FENELON

PROJECTED SCORE: 124.0 - 115.7

FINAL SCORE: 150.3 - 110.7

WINNER: Redmond SkiFrees

Star Players:
Tyreek Hill, KC FLEX (FENE): 36.5 pts from 185 yds; 2 TD; 6/9 REC
Keenan Allen, LAC WR (FENE): 26.5 pts from 105 yds; 1 TD; 10/14 REC
Rams D/ST, D/ST (Red): 21.0 pts from 16 PA; 1 TD; 2 INT; 6 SCK; 2 BLK;

Underachievers:
Tyrod Taylor, Buf QB (FENE): 3.8 pts (-14.1 projected) from 65 yds passing; 0 TD; 1 INT
Mike Evans, TB WR (FENE): 5.3 pts (-9.2 projected) from 33 yds; 0 TD; 2/6 REC
Jack Doyle, Ind TE (FENE): 4.6 pts (-7.0 projected) from 16 yds; 0 TD; 3/5 REC

Coach Brandon finished off the regular season with the week high score! Although he won't be playing in the winner's bracket in the playoffs next week, he looks like a force to be reckoned with in the consolation ladder. But don't let the excitement of the postseason distract you from the fact that Greg Zuerlein has scored 17 points 4 out of the last 6 weeks.

Greg Zuerlein is a kicking gift from the Fantasy Football gods

Coach Patrick on the other hand finished the season of on a 6 game losing streak. On the latter half of the season, creatively named Team FENELON couldn't find consistent QBs or skill positions. This is evident from Patrick having a star player, underachiever and best of the bench all in one week.

Coach Patrick, watching his team go all over the place

Commissioner Goodell vs Seattle Handegg Squad

PROJECTED SCORE: 121.3 - 108.1

FINAL SCORE: 134.6 - 85.9

WINNER: Commissioner Goodell

Star Players:
Alex Smith, KC QB (GOOD): 37.6 pts from 366 yds passing; 4 TD; 0 INT
Larry Fitzgerald, Ari WR (GOOD): 25.8 pts from 98 yds; 1 TD; 10/10 REC
Russell Wilson, Sea QB (EGG): 24.2 pts from 227 yds passing; 3 TD; 0 INT

Underachievers:
Jordan Howard, Chi RB (GOOD): 4.3 pts (-11.4 projected) from 33 yds; 0 TD; 13 RUNS
Julio Jones, Atl WR (GOOD): 4.4 pts (-10.7 projected) from 24 yds; 0 TD; 2/6 REC
Lions D/ST, D/ST (EGG): -4.0 pts (-10.4 projected) from 38 PA;

Commissioner Goodell completed his regular season with a solid victory thanks mostly to Alex Smith and the consistent Fitzgerald. The Commissioner's strategy recently has been to have a super star player that carries the entire team each week. That probably won't stand up in the postseason, but it's cool while it lasts.

Commissioner Goodell's star players

The Seattle Handegg squad broke their 4 game winning streak right at the end. Going into the postseason coach Andre will need a defense that doesn't lose him points and just one or two impact plays from his WRs and RBs who failed to get a TD again this week.

Waiting for those big plays to happen

Ministry of Silly Walks vs Sports and Such

PROJECTED SCORE: 99.9 - 121.0

FINAL SCORE: 121.7 - 94.1

WINNER: Ministry of Silly Walks

Star Players:
Nelson Agholor, Phi WR (MoSW): 27.1 pts from 141 yds; 1 TD; 7/12 REC
A.J. Green, Cin WR (MoSW): 26.7 pts from 77 yds; 2 TD; 7/16 REC
Marshawn Lynch, Oak RB (SUCH): 20.1 pts from 121 yds; 1 TD; 17 RUNS

Underachievers:
Tom Brady, NE QB (SUCH): 8.3 pts (-11.2 projected) from 258 yds passing; 0 TD; 1 INT
Zach Ertz, Phi TE (SUCH): 4.4 pts (-10.0 projected) from 24 yds; 0 TD; 2/4 REC
Emmanuel Sanders, Den WR (SUCH): 3.1 pts (-9.4 projected) from 11 yds; 0 TD; 2/7 REC

The Ministry of Silly Walks ends the regular season with another win. Two of her lowest scoring players were Kareem Hunt and Jordy Nelson... which were her two biggest stars ten weeks ago. Luckily for coach Kristin, the rest of her squad has managed to pick up the slack.

The rest of the bench has Kristin's back

Team Sports and Such had a slide this week as his players underperformed by 30 points! Coach Brandon swept the underachievers distinction in this matchup which doesn't often lead to a victory. Hopefully it was an unlucky week and his players will be back up to their predictions next week.

Coach Brandon watching his players underachieve this week

Taco Tuesdays vs The Bad At Footballs

PROJECTED SCORE: 124.9 - 114.3

FINAL SCORE: 121.3 - 100.9

WINNER: Taco Tuesdays

Star Players:
Le'Veon Bell, Pit RB (BAD): 29.2 pts from 182 yds; 1 TD; 18 RUNS
Mark Ingram, NO RB (TACO): 24.2 pts from 122 yds; 1 TD; 14 RUNS
Rob Gronkowski, NE TE (TACO): 23.7 pts from 147 yds; 0 TD; 9/11 REC

Underachievers:
Jared Cook, Oak TE (BAD): 1.9 pts (-9.4 projected) from 9 yds; 0 TD; 1/5 REC
DeSean Jackson, TB FLEX (BAD): 4.4 pts (-7.2 projected) from 24 yds; 0 TD; 2/3 REC
Davante Adams, GB FLEX (TACO): 8.2 pts (-6.4 projected) from 42 yds; 0 TD; 4/6 REC

Even though coach Shane didn't get the highest score of the week, he still managed to keep his win streak alive. Team Taco Tuesday is riding a hot streak into the postseason that bodes well for his chances at the title this year. Although he will have to start his first week without Gronkowski after his one week suspension.

Taco Tuesday finished the regular season with a magical 4 game winning streak

Coach Derek finished his perfect season.

Green Bay Mermen vs Zeke-a Virus

PROJECTED SCORE: 126.3 - 100.0

FINAL SCORE: 116.9 - 114.7

WINNER: Green Bay Mermen

Star Players:
Travis Kelce, KC TE (RISH): 25.4 pts from 94 yds; 2 TD; 4/8 REC
Antonio Brown, Pit FLEX (ZEKE): 24.1 pts from 101 yds; 1 TD; 8/15 REC
Kenyan Drake, Mia RB (ZEKE): 23.1 pts from 141 yds; 1 TD; 23 RUNS

Underachievers:
Brandin Cooks, NE WR (ZEKE): 4.2 pts (-12.0 projected) from 22 yds; 0 TD; 2/3 REC
Kai Forbath, Min K (ZEKE): 2.0 pts (-7.5 projected) from 0/0 field goals; 2/2 XP
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, NYJ TE (ZEKE): 2.7 pts (-6.7 projected) from 7 yds; 0 TD; 2/3 REC

Coach Anna came out on top in a close battle for the 1st place seed in the league. The mermen have been consistent all season long and they ought to keep that up to finish up the last stretch of the season.

Coach Anna is getting used to winning

Coach Nick was just barely let down by Antonio Brown. If he could have managed just one more catch then he could have contended for the 1st seed. As he is though, his team is still looking great going into the postseason. Although, half of his bench scored 0 points this week which may be a problem if any more of his players are suspended.

Zeke-a Virus can't really afford any more suspensions

Wait for a special update later this week for playoff matchups!
