2017 Playoffs - Game 2

That's all she wrote! The 2017 season of fantasy football is over. Thank you everyone who participated and congratulations to our winners.

The end of this season was a learning experience. We probably should finish the playoffs before Week 17 since several teams pulled their star players for the last game of the season. Also, ESPN changes their data tables once the season is over which broke my python scripts! But now that it's all said and done, let's take a look at the final results!

League All-Star Players

(1) Todd Gurley II, LAR RB (RISH): 49.6 pts (+29.9, over projected)
(2) Keenan Allen, LAC WR (FENE): 34.3 pts (+18.1, over projected)
(1) Seahawks D/ST, D/ST (MoSW): 21.0 pts (+15.5, over projected)
(1) Dion Lewis, NE FLEX (Red): 32.3 pts (+15.4, over projected)
(1) Larry Fitzgerald, Ari WR (GOOD): 27.7 pts (+13.5, over projected)

Todd Gurley was the story of the playoffs. 3 of the 4 weeks of the playoffs he scored 28 pts, 45 and 49 pts. The last week the Rams didn't play him.

League Bust Players

(2) Rob Gronkowski, NE TE (TACO): 0.0 pts (-18.3, under projected)
(2) Samaje Perine, Wsh RB (TACO): 0.3 pts (-14.5, under projected)
(1) Alshon Jeffery, Phi WR (TACO): 0.0 pts (-13.1, under projected)
(1) Michael Crabtree, Oak WR (ZEKE): 0.0 pts (-12.8, under projected)
(2) LeSean McCoy, Buf RB (RISH): 5.2 pts (-12.7, under projected)

Coach Shane took the lion's share bust players in the last game. It wasn't even that his players didn't play, they just didn't touch the football. That's plain bad luck.

Best of the Bench

(2) JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pit Bench (EGG): 35.3 pts (+26.3, over projected)
(2) Alvin Kamara, NO Bench (BAD): 30.8 pts (+12.0, over projected)
(1) C.J. Anderson, Den Bench (RISH): 28.3 pts (+15.8, over projected)
(2) Matthew Stafford, Det Bench (EGG): 27.1 pts (+8.0, over projected)
(1) Jared Goff, LAR Bench (FENE): 25.4 pts (+8.7, over projected)

The bench saw some late-season rising stars due to injuries to regular stars or players pulled on the last game of the season.

(2) Kirk Cousins, Wsh QB (RISH): 7.5 pts (-9.9 projected) from 158 yds passing; 1 TD; 3 INT

Coach Anna beat the projection and comes away with the win in the Blitz of Apathy Super Bowl II!!!

Coach Anna had 4/5 star players in the game and 2/5 underachievers which pretty well sums up how the match went. Anna's players continued to rack up points as they have all season, and then Todd Gurley went super saiyan to wrap it up for Anna.

Coach Nick still ends with 2nd place and a bit of bad luck in the final game of the season. On the first week Christian McCaffrey, Brandin Cooks and Michael Crabtree combined for barely 10 points altogether. Although his team corrected in week 2, it was too little too late to pull out the come back.

PROJECTED SCORE: 228.1 - 238.3

FINAL SCORE: 214.0 - 172.6

WINNER: Sports and Such

(2) Samaje Perine, Wsh RB (TACO): 0.3 pts (-14.5 projected) from 3 yds; 0 TD; 2 RUNS
(1) Alshon Jeffery, Phi WR (TACO): 0.0 pts (-13.1 projected) from 0 yds; 0 TD; 0/2 REC

(1) Devonta Freeman, Atl RB (SUCH): 5.6 pts (-9.3 projected) from 56 yds; 0 TD; 11 RUNS

In the winner's consolation match, team Sports and Such got the W ending up in respectable 3rd place.

Team Taco Tuesday ended the year on a hot streak... up until the final game! He was hit with probably the worst luck of the entire season as is evident from 4/5 of the game underachievers and 3/5 of the league underachievers.

(2) Cam Newton, Car QB (Red): 11.1 pts (-6.3 projected) from 180 yds passing; 1 TD; 3 INT

Both teams in the battle for 5th and 6th place put up very high scores! Coach Brandon was keeping a close eye out for new talent and found it in Dion Lewis who created 60 of the Redmond SkiFrees points.

Coach Patrick might have been able to get the victory in this game if he had switched out the inactive Tyreek Hill before the last week. When asked for a comment, coach Patrick said he hadn't even looked.
